Masaru Emoto Demonstrates the Power of our Words & Intentions

Affirmations can be very powerful. I think it was Louise Hay’s book You Can Heal Your Life that first introduced me to using positive affirmations and I was recently reminded of their worth when I attended a workshop which focused on removing blocks to financial abundance. The power of our words and thoughts and, most of all, their vibration is also the very essence of Abraham’s teachings on the Law of Attraction.

Masaru Emoto Demonstrates the Power of our Words and Intentions.

I previously mentioned that sound can alter cellular and molecular structure in my post entitled The Many Benefits of Chanting but Masaru Emoto has famously demonstrated the immense power of our words, thoughts and intentions through his experiments into the effect of human consciousness on the molecular structure of water. His research has shown that water exposed to positive words and thoughts results in visually pleasing crystals being formed when that water is frozen, and that negative intention yields “ugly” frozen crystal formations. Masaru Emoto’s book entitled Messages from Water and the Universe, contains photographs of these crystals and Emoto’s work also appeared in the movie What the Bleep Do We Know!?.

The significance of Masaru Emoto’s discovery is huge. Masaru Emoto believed that since people are 70 per cent water, and the Earth is 70 per cent water, we can heal our planet and ourselves by consciously expressing love and goodwill.

A later experiment by Masaru Emoto had him pouring water over three identical samples of cooked rice and then every day for a month he said, “Thank you,” to one sample, “You’re an idiot,” to the second and simply ignored the third. The results are astounding:

Great post, Fiona! You Can Heal Your Life was also the first book I stumbled upon that made me take more than a millisecond to further consider this idea. I’ve seen the life-changing power of affirmations and visualizations firsthand both in my life and those of my clients. Very powerful stuff!

Thank you, Fiona. I love the work of Emoto–very sad that he has left this world, his work was very transformational. I remember What the Bleep Do We Know? to be one of my most influential movies on my spiritual journey. Wonderful post and site

This is so amazing how the crystals change in response to emotions. Really makes you think about what your thoughts are doing to all the water in your body.

Masuru Emoto’s work boggles my mind. It makes me feel like I should walk around saying kind and loving things to everything in my home, and out in the world. Which is probably a good idea any way. Thanks for this terrific post!

Words truly do have power. Life changing things happen not only when we believe in something. They change as we speak it as well. When you believe it, you speak it. I’m looking forward to sharing this.
